Sixteen services, one clear path to a booking.

Healthy Bodies Physiotherapy is a multidisciplinary allied health clinic in Cheltenham, Victoria. We restructured its website around how patients actually search for care, then rebuilt it in WordPress so the clinic can run it without a developer.

Nine weeks, fixed scope

Healthy Bodies runs a multidisciplinary practice from a single Cheltenham clinic: physiotherapy, exercise physiology, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, remedial massage and a set of group rehabilitation programs. Patients arrive through four different funding pathways — private, NDIS, DVA and WorkCover/TAC — and each one asks a different first question.

The site had grown one page at a time as the practice added disciplines. Everything was on it, but nothing was findable: sixteen service pages sat behind nested dropdowns, funding information was scattered across unrelated sections, and the booking link changed position from page to page.

The brief was not a visual refresh. It was to make the site answer the three questions reception was answering on the phone all day: do you treat this, do you take my funding, and how soon can I be seen.

The challenge

Everything was on the site. Nothing was findable.

Analytics told a consistent story: high traffic to condition pages, almost no movement from those pages to a booking. People were finding the clinic and then leaving to call instead.

Our approach

Structure first, then interface, then build.

We started with the phone log rather than the homepage. Two weeks with reception and the clinical team told us what patients ask, in what order, and where the existing site made them give up.

Design process

Designed with the clinic’s own photography and language.

No stock imagery of anonymous clinicians. We photographed treatment rooms, the rehabilitation gym and the hydrotherapy sessions, then built the visual system around those images: warm, calm, unmistakably this clinic.

Key features

What we built into the site.

Each feature earns its place by shortening the distance between a symptom search and a confirmed appointment.

Mobile experience

Two thirds of patients arrive on a phone, often in pain.

Every template was designed at 375px first. Phone number, clinic address and the booking button are reachable with a thumb from any page, and the service menu became a flat, scannable list rather than a nested dropdown that never worked on touch.

Services provided

One team, start to finish.

The people in the discovery workshop are the people who designed, built and now support the site.

The outcome

Fewer phone calls asking where things are.

Measured over the first three months against the same period on the previous site. The clinic now publishes its own service updates, programs and articles without raising a ticket.

“Reception noticed the difference before the analytics did. People book online now instead of ringing to ask whether we treat their condition.”
